A night to remember

Not a little boy...

Not yet a man...

Our little man is going to his first school dance tonight! It's not like a formal dance where you bring a date or anything. But, it's a big deal! At least it is to us. I'm so excited for him yet heart broken for us. This little man is indeed growing up. Dances, girlfriends, before we know it he'll be driving (Which by the way, he's already dying to do).

I can't wait to hear about his night. I love the fact that Scott is completely open with us. He doesn't feel like there are things he can't/shouldn't tell us. Please God don't ever let that change.

Seeing Scott grow up so fast is so heart breaking. Each new adventure in his grown up life cuts a little deeper into the heart. You feel as though you lose a little more of your baby and he loses a little more of his innocence.

So, I ask you...

Do you think that having a new baby in the house (when/if that time comes) would lessen the pain of seeing Scott grow up, or worsen it? Or will it be exactly the same? Do you think we'll cling onto a new baby because we won't want them to grow up? Will we shelter them? Baby them too much?

Gosh I miss that little man that used to talk funny, make up his own words, and sit in the bath tub for hours on end. I give thanks to the fact that he's still young enough to cuddle and hug and show affection with out him being embarassed or grossed out. You can see with each passing week that those teenage hormones are slowly moving in, but for now we will soak up every bit of his youthful love, bliss and sweetness.

Good night all. Posted by Picasa
