Prayers Please!

Friday, September 23, 2005

I am so scared for our nation right now. In the wake of yet another disasterous hurricane, how will our country survive? How can we as a nation afford this? Is there anymore to give? What if all of us who gave so much to the Katrina victims can't find the means to give to the Rita vicitms?

This latest storm "Rita" is especially frightening to me (much like the treturous 2 weeks of Ophelia) because we have loved ones in it's wake. Ian's best friend in the whole world, lives in Beaumont, TX. I heard tonight on the radio that the eye of the storm is going to hit Beaumont directly! I have been bugging Ian to call him all week and he has been calling but we haven't been able to get a hold of him. FINALLY, today, Ian recieved a short text message from him saying that the situation is really bad and that he is going to Houston. Ian and I got a chance to go visit Frankie earlier this year and we all had a blast! I loved seeing him and Ian together. They hadn't seen each other in 4 or 5 years and it was as if they had spent everyday together! They don't even talk on the phone..maybe once every 2-3 months or something. That's how you know they're your best friend. It was funny seeing how alike they are. They're like one person in 2 bodies! Too funny. Frankie owns and operates his own Bar/Restaurant in Beaumont called Madison's on Dowlen It's an AWESOME place and Frank has worked so hard on it and on his house, please keep him in your prayers and pray that Rita dies before she hits them!

We love you Frankie and we are all praying for you all of those in Rita's path.
