We're leaving on a jet plane!

Yup, that's right. We leave Friday for Florida and won't be back until Monday. So I won't be back to the blogger world until Tuesday night, unless I can sneak some in Tuesday morning at work, hehe.
Mary, the girls and myself are headed down to Florida to soak up some sunshine for a few days. It's sure to be a good time, I wish that Ian was going to be able to go though. Guess it's not really appropriate to have your hubby with you on a "girls weekend out" though huh?
It's hard because he is my best friend and I like to share everything with him. I don't want him to miss out on a good time and I know that he'll be at home working while I'm having fun :(
I'm sure we'll make up for it on our vacation together this year, but I sure will miss him while I'm gone. And all of you of course.
This will be a healthy break from my blogger obsession. I have to admit though that my blogging will have to slow down when I get back. I have to get our house ready and contact the real estate agent to put it on the market and get things going. Ian and I are going to look at the 2 houses next Friday and I really think that they are going to be good. Now my fear is that we're going to find something that we just fall in love with and then lose it because we have to wait for our house to sell. So we have to sell our house contingent on us finding a home of our choice, and then we can seriously get going.
Ok, I have to get my work done so that I can get out of here. I'm sure I'll have to unpack and repack another 2 or 3 times before I leave, lol. I'm so indecisive!
Have a Great Weekend!

Moving theme???
Tuesday, January 10, 2006
So as you all know by now the new theme/layout/template of this blog involves moving. Many of you have asked if we were moving or what was up.
Our biggest plan this year is moving back home to NY. It MUST be done! We can not survive another holiday season traveling from state to state. So our goal is to try and make it back to NY sometime in the spring. This is the main focus of all of my attention these days. Finding jobs, selling our house, buying a new house...finding a new house, researching school districts, maping out houses and jobs and calculating distance and driving and how far from Scott's house and on and on and on. The list continues to grow everyday, as does the stress level.
We drove to NY on Friday to look at a site where a new house was going to be built. I thought for sure that it would be a sure thing! It was perfect on paper, perfect location, not far from jobs, good school district, and BRAND new!! But...umm...yeah, after seeing the site, it will NEVER work! I swear the land was the same size of the house they are intending to build! It was litterally in the backyard of the neighboring house! I don't get it? I will definately go back after the home is built, just to see how they actually got it in there!
Not to worry though, I've found 2 more that hopefully Ian and I can go see the Friday after I get back from FL. These 2 are in a different town, different county. Only problems are that there are no jobs close by. It would be at least a 30 min drive to any job, but more likely it will be closer to an hour. It's about an hour away from my family and 30-45 minutes from Scott. Wish me luck on those!
Now I have to finish getting our house ready so that we can put it on the market next month. I'm thinking about packing some of our stuff up and getting a storage unit for a couple of months so that the house isn't so cluttered when we go to show it. I guess I could always box stuff up and put it in the attic since we have nothing up there, but it's such a pain to get things up and down from there that I think a storage unit would just be easier. I'll have to price them out and see if it's worth the $$.
The other issue with showing the house is/are the dogs. Obviously they can't be home when the realtor is showing the home. So I'm sure that will make for a long couple of months as well. Luckily there is a dog park close by that I can take them to when the house is being showed....but, it will be Feb./March so the chances of snow (AKA wet slushy almost rain mix in CT) are very likely. Then what? I guess we'll be making some frequent trips to Petco, lol (where the pets go!) I need to hire a dog sitter that is on call that can come pick them up when the realtor calls. I guess I'll just have to quit my job! Yippeee!!!! Sounds like a good plan to me!
Well, that's it for now, I better get back to work I've got 8 puppies to start feeding in a week or 2 and judging by the current size of them, at 1 week, I'm sure they'll cost us a fortune! Work, work, work. BLAH!
