So what did you do on Saturday night?
Ok I know by now that most of you must have seen this at one site or another. I first saw it at William's and was tagged by Carrie. So here it goes....Thanks Carrie!
For those of you who don't know, we have 2 beagles...Bruno and Patches. Last night we had a horrible rain storm and the dogs insisted on playing outside in the mud and rain! Yuck! So when they were done I had to give them their baths...(yes they are my kids! LOL.) and put them to bed...Patches is good in the bath, Bruno on the otherhand...HATES it!!It is a total struggle with him the whole time.
I was Soaked!!!
So...a little background on the 'Bru' ...He is an escape artist, and a very talented one at that. He has been finding ways to escape our back yard since he realized that he will indeed survive when he's not right bu our side. So...in the past 2 years we have lined the inside of our fence with cinder blocks...didn't work. Put up ply wood on one side of the fence where he escaped...didn't work. And the latest....put and electric fence on the inside of the chain link fence...they broke the wire and then....it didn't work. So, what next you ask? Well we fixed the electric fence, rewired the entire yard and replaced the batteries in their collars...ok now we're good.
Until....BATH TIME!!! No collars int he bath right? Right! So the colloars came off, they got their baths and played in the house for awhile then it was time for bed so they went down stairs and into their create...still no collars. Before leaving for work in the morning, Ian put them outside, this is our normal routine, except today they still didn't have their collars on from last night....so guess what?
Yup! No more Bruno! I get home and Patches is in the yard SCREAMING at me, if you're asking yourself how can a dog scream, trust me she can! She's a beagle so she should be able to howl you know the long, drawn out AAAAOOOOOhhhhhhhhhh (Bruno can do it, I think it's hilarious! Not sure the neighbors feel the same) Well, Patches does not know how to howl so she screams! It's glass shattering screams! Aweful!
Anyway, she does this everytime Bruno get's out, to let me know she's pissed!
Since we've been through this so many times before, I just automatically came in the house, got his collars and his leash and headed to the pound (AKA Bruno's favortie hang out) It's pretty sad when the local pound knows your dog. So, I get there and they haven't seen him :( Left my number for the dispatcher on tonight at the police department and came back home...Patches is screaming at me again...now she won't leave my side because she's all depressed that her 'Bru' is gone :(
Then the electrician shows up to look at the hot tub situation. We don't know anything yet he has to see if he can get the parts first...we should know by tomorrow at noon. I'll let yall know how it goes!
Now I sit down to write this post and I hear Bruno crying (He's a real cry baby...all the time, not like Patch, just wimpers) Then it clicks, OMG BRUNO! He's sitting at the front door, crying to get in!!! I cannot believe that he made his way all the way back home! He's never done that before! We have 100 acres behind our house so that is always where he heads and usually ends up at someones house and they call animal control to come get him. i can't believe that he spent the whole day out wandering in the woods and then came home. He really does love us!!!
Patches ran away with the escape artist once when she was only 9 weeks old and she made her way all the way back home with out him! I was so impressed...she hasn't left since, LOL...she REALLY loves us!
So now we're all home, we're all happy and I can finally relax for the night. I'll leave you with some more funny pics I took of the dogs when Bru got home.
I didn't know Beagles could be chinese??
Check out my rare Chinese Beagle...lol
Oh no not Patch too! LOL Check out the tongue!
First I'd like to say thank you to all for your prayers. Apparently, Rita heard our prayers and was not as bad as Katrina. The eye of the storm did hit Beaumont (Frankies home) and the devistation does not look good. Ian called Frank yesterday and left him a message...we haven't heard from him since the storm. I know that when we were there this year he had said something about there being a canal nearby and a few years ago the whole neighborhood had flooded. So, therefore there is no doubt in my mind that his house is completely flooded yet again...please continue to send your prayers to all those affected by the hurricanes.
