Still more nothing...

Saturday, October 29, 2005

We drove up to NY to get Scott yesterday, and they indeed have SNOW!!! Not a whole lot but enough for you to see. Last night I could have swore I saw snow in the air, but Ian said I was just crazy. It's coming I know it is...and soon too! Last night was freezing!

So our plans for the weekend....
Today we have to go out and buy some Halloween costumes. Last minute? Ummm, yeah! We have 2 options....our friends are having a "Pirate's of the Carribean" Halloween party, which sounds like a lot of fun! And the aquarium is having a "Seascare" Event. Scott really wants to go to the seascare thing at the aquarium because they have trick-or-treating and costume contests and all sorts of Halloween goodness going on. He's not going trick-or-treating this year, so this might be a way to sneak in some extra goodies. hehehe.

I guess we should get out butts in gear and go out and search for some costumes!

I switched my comments over to HaloScan so all my old comments are gone...now we have to start fresh!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Happy Halloween! I can't wait to see everyones Halloween pics on Tuesday!!

Thank you to everyone for sharing all your experiences and advice. I hear the lunch meat thing too
Ju! I'm a subway addict and I kicked it when I found out I was prego then once we lost the baby, I started eating it every day! I LOVE Subway! I've now just decided to try and make them healthier...wheat bread...spinach instead of lettuce...and cucumbers instead of pickles. ( LOL, you're from CT right? Do you still call them "grinders"? That was something Ian and I had to get used to when we first moved to CT from NY. One of our first nights here we had asked someone where we could go to grab something quick to eat and they said,

"Well, that place over there has some really good grinders."

LOL We were like what the hell?

Ian:"What is he talking about?"
Me:"....Grinders?"
Ian:"....Like for meat?"
Me:"A meat grinder?"
Ian:"What?"
Me:"Do they make good sausage or something?"

LMAO! We get it now! lol. I love when we go home now and we'll say something about a grinder to our family and they start having the same thought process...lol.)

Back on topic....Like Jewl said, I know that I am in a good place...I don't smoke, drink or do drugs. I've been taking my prenatal vitamins since April. I'm not over weight. I don't even drink Coffee or soda! I'm a milk or juice kind of girl, and sometimes sweet tea. But...I live on chocolate milk!! It's my favorite! I have it every morning, and sometimes when I get home too. Plus I love junk food! Don't get me wrong, I love health stuff too, there isn't a veggie or a fruit that I would pass up...but I need my sweets! For example....last night I stopped by the grocery store on my way home to get some food to make dinner(yeah that's right...I MADE dinner! Again! Yay me! LOL) So I park at the new end that has this awesome new produce department (Our grocery store is in the process of remodeling) I get the organic lettuces (is lettuces a word?....um...lettuci?Lettuce? Ahhhh, I don't know!) some organic baby spinach, grape tomatos, and a cucumber. Grab some sugar free dressing (this was totally by acident! I didn't see the great big SUGAR FREE on the label! LOL I hate, hate, hate artifical sweetners, they make me literally sick....but, off topic again....I'll move on) get some meat to cook up, and Emeril's rosemary & garlic marinade (My favorite!) Grab some soda for Ian (He's on a "no beer" diet, thanks to me and the baby makin' LOL, Thanks Ian for being such a good sport! lol) and some oj for me....all good so far right? Well, here it comes....the oj is in the same isle as the ice cream! What's a girl to do? Well, there is also all the JELL-O pudding snacks there too so I opted for a pack of those instead of the ice cream(I'm thinking good choice...?) Well, then I start thinking and Ian has been saying, for about 2 or 3 nights in a row that he wishes we had cookies...soooo....I go over to the cookie cooler (you know, the pre-made cookie dough) and much to my surprise they are on sale for 2 for $4!! Yippeee! Well...I could only get one for $2...but which one? Chocolate chip or the peanut butter with the mini Reese's Pieces? Ohhhh, decisions decisions......ahhh screw it "I'm getting both!" And I did...and I ate both! Well, only one cookie of each kind....moderation right? Good for me I thought.....

On another note...I changed my song again...this one is "Who I am" by Jessica Andrews. I love this song. I think of it as a song about me, except when I'm singing along, in the car I have to change the chorus. So if you'd like to sing along with me, this is how it goes....
"I am Cath-er-ine's granddaughter, spitting image of my mother, and when the day is done my Daddy's still my biggest fan."

Enjoy!

Who's with me?

Monday, October 24, 2005

Ok, so I've been thinking lately and I wanted to ask y'all some questions.

More so to those who have had miscarraiges and since been prego again, or those who struggled with infertility.

What were the buggest things you changed in your lifestyle when you found out you were pregnant, or before getting pregnant?

If you read all the books and follow all the advise, you're truely demised to eating organic spinach and drinking water(purified, but not too purified) and OJ (organic, of course!)

So what were the things you gave up? What was it that your doctor told you to avoid that made you say "Really?"

When I was pregnant I was constantly trying to do everything "right" What to eat, What not to eat, what activities to do, what not to do, what to clean with, what not to clean with...etc.

This time I'm just gonna go with the flow! If I want it, I'll have it. Of course I'm not going to over indulge or anything, but I think just worring about everything and reading ever single label is enough for your growing fetus to say "OK that's it I'm outta here!"

I remember when I was pregnant, that everything I was told not to eat, turned into exactly what I wanted! What about you? What was your biggest craving? What did you forbid yourself to eat? What did someone or your Dr. tell you not to do/eat that you thought was rediculous?

This is the part where you all leave really long comments that I will full heartedly enjoy reading...I'm sure we'll all enjoy reading them, lol.

Have a great week!

You're getting sleepy....

Sunday, October 23, 2005

Ahhhhh...a nice relaxing day. Finally! Ian and I were both off today, and what did we do?.....NOTHING! I slept in until 10am! It felt great! Then I got up, did some laundry and the dishes, took a shower, painted the kitchen...well only the corner that I needed to finish, not the whole kitchen. Then we went to the Hard Rock for lunch at Foxwoods Casino and gambled a little...lost it all as usual.
Came home, hopped in the hot tub for a bit, then came in and took a 2 HOUR nap!!! It was wonderful!
To get Ian to just relax on his days off is usually a huge task, so the fact the he actually took a nap with me in the afternoon is a big feat!

OMG I'm watching 60 minutes while typing this and the interviewer guy (not sure what his name is) just said Chicargo!! This is also how my parents say it, lol. THERE"S NO R IN Chicago! AHHHHHH, he just said it AGAIN!!! LMAO! He's on tv, he should know better! Don't they edit these things?

Ok anyway, I should go now. I'm sitting here blogging and laughing histerically at the tv. I need help!
